Treasure hunt is an annual adventure themed event that tests scouts’ problem solving and practical abilities as they trek across the bay area, this time to save the piston cup in this year’s Cars based hunt. Scouts tried their pioneering, orienteering, first aid, and more to score well in competition and access the code to their next destination, ending the day off by camping by the beach in half moon bay, leaving the morning after.

Klondike 2026

On February seventh, the troop traveled to Carson Pass Snow Park in order to participate in the klondike derby, a challenging snow based outing a ways away from society. There, scouts built snow shelters out of blocks cut from the ground, slept through the night in them, and spent the next day competing in various events such as javelin throwing, grappling hooks, slingshots, four man skis, and the snowshoe course. The troop packed out and ate a delicious stew before leaving for home.

Uvas Canyon Outing

As the first outing of 2026, the troop went on an overnight camping trip at Uvas Canyon in which scouts participated in a four mile hiking trip through the outdoors, enjoying the nice weather and good views throughout the campgrounds. The youth leadership also ran a cooking competition between patrols and a first aid scenario to test and teach scout skills. The youth enjoyed friendly competition and camaraderie as they worked together to accomplish goals, altogether being abetted in their learning while also having a ball. It was both a challenging and invigorating experience to the many new scouts who are in the troop.

October Canoe Day Trip
For many an introductory experience to the water sports that the troop regularly partakes in, the scouts ran the Mokelumne River in their canoes, accruing 5 miles during their day trip on October 19th. Throughout the outing, a motley of wildlife, including various waterbirds, Canadian geese, ducks, diverse flora, and at one point domesticated cows were able to be seen. Topping out at class two rapids, the river run was a learning experience for all.
