On February seventh, the troop traveled to Carson Pass Snow Park in order to participate in the klondike derby, a challenging snow based outing a ways away from society. There, scouts built snow shelters out of blocks cut from the ground, slept through the night in them, and spent the next day competing in various events such as javelin throwing, grappling hooks, slingshots, four man skis, and the snowshoe course. The troop packed out and ate a delicious stew before leaving for home.
