Troop 27 went to their annual Summer Camp! This year the troop went to Lake Of the Woods. Some older scouts went to advance camp, where they came earlier than the rest of the scouts, and they set up the entire campsite like the dock, latrines and kitchen! When the rest of the troop arrived on Saturday, they set up their camp. Throughout the week the kitchen staff cooked amazing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the troop with different meals each day. The troop also participated in multiple events such as Special Operations, and Paul Bunyeon. In these events patrols competed against each other in different things like tomahawk throwing and knife throwing. Each event was focused on different skills and allowed scouts to work on them. Scouts were also able to work on merit badges with various different ones including: Archery, Fishing Rowing, Orienteering, and more! All scouts would also participate in an amazing 5-mile hike, scouts would practice and learn orienteering skills and have a swim call. Friday night would be the camp’s closing ceremony, on Saturday the scouts would break down camp and head home with an amazing experience from the week.
